Our Core Values
Restoration: At The I Am House, restoration begins with healing, not just from trauma, but toward a future defined by stability and purpose. Survivors of domestic abuse often carry unseen emotional wounds that impact their ability to regain control of their lives. Through trauma-informed counseling in partnership with BetterHelp, we help women and their children initiate the process of emotional healing in a safe and supportive environment. This foundation of wellness is the first step in empowering residents to stabilize, set goals, and move toward independent, thriving futures.
Key Scriptures:
Psalm 34:18-22, Psalm 147:3, Psalm 9:9, Jeremiah 30:17, 2 Kings 20:5
Refuge is more than a place — it's a community of safety, trust, and belonging. Survivors of domestic abuse often feel isolated and unsupported, making it difficult for them to escape their situations or heal effectively. Our safe online community ensures women are surrounded by a network of caring individuals, support systems, spiritual encouragement, and resources. Whether through counseling, mentorship, or community engagement, The I Am House offers unwavering support, helping survivors rebuild their lives and providing them with the strength and guidance they need to move forward on their healing journey.
Key Scriptures:
Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 40:29, 2 Samuel 22:49
Rebuild: Rebuilding is about reclaiming identity and stepping into independence. At The I Am House, we equip women with the life skills, mindset, and resources needed to move forward with confidence. Through affirmations rooted in biblical truth, personal development, financial literacy, job readiness, and parenting support, survivors begin to see themselves as whole and capable. This phase is about preparing for life beyond our walls, where women not only recover but reimagine and actively build the lives they were created to live.
Key Scriptures:
Romans 8:38-39- I am loved. Deuteronomy 7:6- I am chosen.
John 15:16- I am worthy. Colossians 2:10- I am enough.

Are you a Domestic Abuse survivor?
If you have ever experienced abuse, then you know the long-lasting effects it can have. You can lose your sense of security, joy, hope, purpose, and even your desire to live.
Witnessing domestic abuse in her home as a child caused Dana to be in several abusive relationships as an adult. It wasn’t until she lost herself and reconnected with God that she experienced a place of identity and the birthing of The I Am House.
She desires for you to break free from your current situation and live your best life by accepting who God says you are.
