Our Statement of Faith
You are not alone.
At The I Am House, our foundation is faith, faith in a God who provides refuge, restoration, and a chance to rebuild our lives. We believe in one God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, whose love is unchanging and whose presence brings healing and hope. It’s through that love that we serve women and children who have endured domestic abuse, helping them find safety, wholeness, and the courage to begin again.
We Believe
In God the Father, the Creator of heaven and earth, who calls us to justice, compassion, and mercy. He is faithful to His promises and near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 147:3
In Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our Savior and Redeemer, who came to heal, restore, and set captives free. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we find forgiveness, freedom, and new beginnings.
In the Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Guide, who dwells within us, giving us wisdom, strength, and peace as we walk in faith.
In the authority and truth of Scripture, God’s Word that lights our path and reminds us that His plans for us are good.
In the power of prayer, through which we seek God’s heart, direction, and provision for all we do.
In the dignity and worth of every person, created in the image of God and deserving of safety, love, and opportunity.
Our Faith in Action
Because of what we believe, we live out our faith by:
Providing refuge — a safe and peaceful place for women and children escaping or healing from domestic abuse.
Promoting restoration — through counseling, spiritual care, and community support.
Encouraging rebuilding — helping survivors rediscover their strength, identity, and purpose in God’s love.
We stand firm on the promises of God:
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
— Isaiah 41:10
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
— Jeremiah 29:11
Our faith compels us to love without judgment, to serve with humility, and to believe in the power of God to restore what’s been broken. At The I Am House, we welcome each woman and child into a community of grace where peace, healing, and hope are found in the boundless love of God.
For us, faith is more than belief; it’s love in action.
